How Vitalyst Works: Programmatic Priorities & Grants

How Vitalyst Works: Programmatic Priorities & Grants featured image

At Vitalyst, we want to ensure our resources work to improve the lives of Arizonans, especially in communities with high social vulnerability.  To do this, Vitalyst works with community organizations in two ways:

  1.  Grantmaking Work—As a grantmaking foundation, we support Arizona-serving organizations and coalitions through our grants, which are focused on systems change.
  2. Programmatic Work — As a programmatic foundation, we work directly with nonprofits whose work aligns with our programmatic priorities, listed below.

In 2022, Vitalyst embarked on a Strategic Roadmap Refresh. We implemented our three goals of Collaborative Networks, Strong Community Partners and Informed Decision-Makers. Since these goals are broad, we focus on specific programmatic areas. Vitalyst’s programmatic priorities for 2024 – 2025 fiscal year will be: 1) Civic Health; 2) Health Care Integration; 3) Housing. Below is what those mean to us:

  • Civic Health – Supporting long-term efforts that improve active community participation.
  • Health Care Integration – Supporting health systems that integrate physical, mental and social determinants of health.
  • Housing – Support statewide housing initiatives along the spectrum of housing types.

As always, Vitalyst’s doors are open to exploring opportunities to support with grants coalitions working to improve community health and well-being across the Elements of a Healthy Community. Our Discovery Process recently opened. If you are interested in learning more, let’s have a conversation.
