Calling the Experts: The 2017 Year Of Healthy Communities

Calling the Experts: The 2017 Year Of Healthy Communities featured image

The 2017 Year of Healthy Communities is about celebrating, connecting and expanding statewide efforts to improve health and well-being. That’s why we’re calling on – and calling for – your contributions, connections and expertise.

We want your work to gain visibility, support and connection at a new level – whether your organization focuses on transportation, education, economic opportunity, housing, food, or any of the Elements of a Healthy Community.

Two radio-show style webinars have already taken place featuring eight different guest experts, and are now available for playback here and here. Four-to-six similar shows focused on the remaining elements are in the planning stages and ready for your participation. Multi-disciplinary workshops are being planned at Arizona’s major universities. Cross-departmental meetings are being set up with cities and counties. University, city, and county stakeholders have been invaluable resources – and we’d like you to join them.

Your work belongs in these webinars, conversations and workshops. It belongs on the livewellaz.org website. Your events can gain additional exposure as well. We simply need to hear from you. Online, you can provide us all the details for website content (links for submissions are found at the bottom of each element page) and event promotion (by clicking here). We also welcome you to contact Vitalyst directly. If you are from the sectors of Access to Care, Food Access, Transportation or Affordable Quality Housing, then register today to join us online or in-person for a “website content workshop” on March 20. You can also call us at 602-385-6500 or email livewellaz@vitalysthealth.org to schedule a time to connect.

2017 is our year to identify, connect and build together towards improved health and well-being. We look forward to learning more about, sharing and promoting your great work.
