As part of its housing programmatic priority, Vitalyst Health Foundation is partnering with community organizations to explore land use and development of affordable and workforce housing on their properties., much like the school districts Vitalyst supported to explore housing on school district property.

The organizations include Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Tucson and Orangewood Presbyterian Church Housing in Phoenix. Both churches are exploring the possibility of building housing that fits their congregation and the nearby community.

Vitalyst is also working with Valley of the Sun YMCA and Friendly House which are exploring co-locating various services, including partnerships with Federally Qualified Health Centers and housing. Both potential projects are also located along the light rail, connecting future residents to high quality public transportation.

“At Vitalyst, we understand that housing is a key part of a healthy community Access to safe, affordable housing is now out of reach for so many, and to meet our community’s needs, we must be as creative as possible. We are so glad the success with school districts has led to other organizations and churches stepping forward to embrace this concept,” said Suzanne Pfister, Vitalyst President and CEO.
