Arizonans for Health Care Reform Hosts Town Meetings

Rep. Kyrsten Sinema is representing Arizona in the Obama Administration’s health care reform effort. She has now set up a calendar of events on her Facebook page, for those who are on Facebook. In case you aren’t, here’s the schedule and here are the places legislators will be touring in Arizona to see best practices and community needs:

Public Town Halls and Forums:

•North Flagstaff forum at North Country Community Health Center with tour prior to forum, Aug. 6 (time TBA)
•Yuma forum at Pivot Point Conference Center, focused on border health issues, Aug. 15 (time TBA)
•Casa Grande forum focused on needs of rural Arizonans, Aug. 18 (time TBA)
•North Tucson retirement community center forum with Rep. Nancy Young Wright, focused on needs of retirees and elderly, with tour afterwards, Aug. 20, 10-11 a.m., Heritage Highlands Clubhouse, Dove Mountain Ballroom, 4949 W. Heritage Club Blvd., Marana, AZ 85658
•Sierra Vista forum with military families and Rep. Patricia Fleming, to address special needs facing military and veterans, Aug. 20 (time TBA)
•Tucson greater community forum, Aug. 22 (time TBA)
•Phoenix greater community forum, Aug. 29 (time TBA)

•Tour of Phoenix Children’s Hospital to review best practices and talk with providers about lack of coverage for children in Arizona
•Tour of South Phoenix Community Health Center to review innovative care in physical and behavioral health
•Small business owners roundtable – co-hosted by Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Phoenix and Rep. Michele Reagan, R-Scottsdale (Commerce Chair)
•Tour of Disability Empowerment Center to see continuum of care provisions
